Villa La Cupola

Unveiling new Villa La Cupola

After a full-scale renovation, The Westin Excelsior Rome unveils the new Villa La Cupola Suite, one of the most exclusive suites in Europe. Spanning over 1100 square meters, the suite is among the largest suites in Europe, an extraordinary luxury residence in the heart of the Eternal City.

Originally designed by American architect Michael Stelea in 1998, the two-story suite features a sophisticated master bedroom enriched by refined furniture; large marble bathrooms; an elegant domed living room, with a breath-taking frescoed cupola inspired by Rome’s renaissance, baroque and neo-classical times; a private studio and a dining room with a private kitchen. At the upper floor, guests can indulge in a well-equipped fitness area, sauna and steam bath along with a magnificent Pompeian style Jacuzzi pool with mosaic background, vaulted ceiling and frescoes that evoke the atmosphere of the ancient Roman baths. The suite boasts an outstanding panoramic rooftop terrace with the dome that overlooks the entire building and unique views of the Roman skyline.

All areas of the suite have been renovated with the aim to create a new contemporary and elegant space. Marbles have been polished and returned to their original beauty as well as the precious frescoes of the dome which have undergone a restoration guided by expert hands and are now illuminated by a new LED system that enhances every detail. For this special renovation, Pascale Julian, Corporate Director Interior Design at Katara Hospitality, selected the best Made in Italy brands such as Rubelli, Cassina and Giorgetti.
